In an article by Page Six, “Full House” star John Stamos revealed he is recovering from surgery to fix his trigger finger. Stenosing tenosynovitis, also referred to as “trigger finger,” is a painful condition that causes stiffness, clicking, or locking of the affected thumb or finger.

Stamos posted a photo captioned, “Thanks to the fine doctors/nurses for taking such good care of me. I’ll be up and drumming in no time. Thank you for the well wishes. Xo.” As stated in the article, “It’s common for people who partake in work or hobbies that require repetitive gripping — like playing musical instruments such as the guitar or drums.”

Stamos could have developed this due to playing instruments, however there are other causes that can increase the risk of tendinitis in the hand. For more information on symptoms, causes, and treatments for trigger finger, visit the link here.
